Yuka x Scaleflex
To break away from the conventional, structured testimonial format often seen in the tech space, Scaleflex wanted something more dynamic and engaging. I proposed a mixed media approach that blended a still-shot testimonial with stock footage, upbeat music, and additional shots captured by a freelance videographer. The result is a fresh, vlog-style testimonial that highlights Yuka’s experience with Scaleflex in a way that feels authentic, modern, and visually compelling.

OBSTACLES
This project came with a few unique challenges. Since I didn’t have direct contact with the freelance videographer, I had to plan and storyboard everything before seeing a single frame of footage, working off instinct and educated guesses. When the clips finally came in, they were a bit different from what I had pictured, so I had to rethink and rework parts of the storyboard to make it all fit. The testimonial was also in French (which I don’t speak), so I navigated that with translation help and context clues during the edit. Being the only motion designer at Scaleflex, I handled everything solo, from concept to final export. It was a test of flexibility, creative problem-solving, and trusting the process, even when not everything was in my control.
WORK FLOW
I began by drafting a flexible storyboard and visual direction, based on a general idea of what the freelance-shot footage might look like. Once I received the clips, I adapted the structure to fit what I had while keeping the energy and pacing consistent. Throughout the process, I also had to keep in mind how the content would be reused across different platforms, so I built the structure in a way that made it easy to break down into shorter, social-friendly cuts. I handled everything on my own, from editing and motion graphics to refining the tone and pacing. It was an iterative, hands-on process that required balancing creativity with practicality.
Impact (or Outcome)
The final video delivered a refreshing alternative to typical B2B testimonials, and the Scaleflex team was able to repurpose it for different social channels. It’s since become a creative reference point for future testimonial content.
